With the thought of school on Friday looming, I was just sitting here reflecting on ways in which I have wasted my 6 weeks off, when I realised that I hadn't posted about work experience. At the start of the summer, I carried out a weeks work experience with National Museums Liverpool - specialising in the Decorative Arts department. Just for those who don't know, the NML group consists of The Walker Art Gallery, The Lady Lever Art Gallery, The Maritime Museum, Museum of Liverpool, World Museum and Sudley House. I had an amazing week, mostly hands-on in the costume department picking out dresses for upcoming exhibitions such as Fashion Through the Ages and Titanic, the costume department was like heaven! I fell in love with so many pieces. I also carried out a day at Lady Lever Art Gallery in Port Sunlight, somewhere I regret to admit I had never visited prior to my placement and I fell in love with the building, surroundings and pieces inside. However, the day I was most looking forward to, a day in the Fine Art department at The Walker Art Gallery was totally disappointing - the Fine Art curator went home sick and I was left to file artists A-Z. This aside, I had a lovely day at the gallery helping out with the Art In Revolution exhibition - definitely worth visiting! And of course my favourites, Pre-Rafaelite Art. My week with NML definitely made me consider curating! Anyway, below are a few of the pieces that I fell in love with!

#WISHLIST
Things that I need but can't quite afford, hello overdraft.............
Miu Miu Glitter Heels.......I need these desperately! I love the unusual shape of the shoe and heel, as well as the contrast between the glitter and the suede panels. I just can't decide between silver or gold!
Alexander McQueen antique gold skull rings @ Selfridges. So different to anything else you see - the flowers around the skull are too cute to resist.
Vivienne Westwood is one of my favourite designers and I am hopeless for anything by her. I love the colour of this take on the classic satchel shape, and the hexagonal shape. MUST HAVE!
I love all of Victoria Beckham's dresses, but this one is still a firm favourite. Purple AW 09 still needs to be mine, perfect with the black courts.
Victoria Beckham again but this time her AW11 pumpkin clutch. It is fabulous and that is all.

Bank Holiday
So yesterday when I woke up to my parents emptying Smirnoff into plastic bottles ready to take to Mathew Street Festival, I decided it wasn't right. Howcome they had a day of sophisticated drinking on the streets planned and I had nothing but Art coursework and watching Come Dine With Me planned? So something had to be done, and that is when 3 of my friends and I planned to go out. Last minute plans are always the best anyway - the fact of having no outfit planned aside. I had a fabulous night with my fabulous friends......xxx

Pre-Rafaelite Moss
Every time I see more pictures from Kate Moss and Jamie Hince's wedding, I become a little bit more obsessed. Never mind Kate Middleton, Kate Moss definitely wins the crown for me for the wedding of the year. Kate's wedding album, shot by none other than Mario Testino, was published in US Vogue last week and I fell in love! To me, I was sold by the total pre-rafaelite air to the event - an art movement I fell in love with a while ago. With the bridesmaids in long, flowing lace and flower-adorned hair, the wedding photos look every inch A Midsummer Night's Dream-meets a Rosetti painting. I definitely may need to recreate this for my own wedding. IN. LOVE.
AS Results
Thank god they're over! Finally got my results last week and I couldn't be more relieved...a little more time to blog now! It appears that all the nights I stayed up til all hours payed off, I am so happy with my results.
